The Strategy and Architecture function’s role is to define, communicate and monitor the implementation of the group IT strategy and enterprise architecture strategy. Our key goal is to improve transparency within Digital Technology to maximise collaboration and minimise unnecessary complexity.
An IT Strategic Roadmap has been created detailing Digital Technology’s key initiatives and programmes and an assessment of the strategic contribution of each initiative. Key to the plan’s success has been the collaborative development approach creating buy in and ensuring Sunrise interdependencies are included. The roadmap will also be used as the foundation for the new DT transformation office (Trafo office)
Enterprise architecture functions have been established in all regions/units enabling a common approach for managing architectures. These functions play a key role in the design process by providing groupwide transparency and identifying redundancies. They also support strategic investment steering in close collaboration with portfolio management teams.
EA Book of KnowledgeValue Proposition events (VPs) are a way to prioritize projects based on value creation by looking at the bigger picture and focusing on strategic priorities. The approach promotes dialogue and interaction over paperwork to build consensus and shared responsibility for portfolio delivery. This planning approach has been implemented and refined for Central IT (Enterprise IT and Information Security).
Value Proposition DefinitionIn order to survive in rapidly changing IT and business environments, Digital Technology will require new skills and capabilities in the future. The NextGenSkillset 2.0 is a new program which will look at each IT unit to determine their future skills and capability needs and then develop a roadmap to deliver identified changes
Fostering innovation and digital transformation is key to E.ON. This brings the challenge of integrating many heterogenous and rapidly changing technology platforms into the IT estate. The Technology Integration Strategy provides a framework (e.g. common design patterns) for these integrations to maximise flexibility and minimise unnecessary complexity.
