GlobalPortfolio Management

Global Portfolio Management (GPM) focuses on integrated steering of the IT & Digital investment portfolio, bringing together business and technology leadership. Decisions on IT & Digital spend in the volume of a triple digit million Euro range are channeled through GPM each year. We support decision makers to ensure that portfolios reflect strategic directions and priorities and we help them maximizing value creation for the customers and for the group by fostering efficient spend. We achieve it through continuous cooperation with the Board of Management of each Business Unit and the community of Local Portfolio Managers, Enterprise Architecture Managers and Controllers across the organization.

Improving Spend for IT/Digital Operations (Commercial Optimization)

Mobilized 10 working groups across the IT/Digital organization and engaged largest BUs on co-creation of cost saving levers (e.g. engaging major vendors on service improvement while optimizing costs). Total saving potential of ~35 m€ in 2019 (vs. 44 m€ target) identified and being implemented, new saving levers are being analyzed.

MAIN / Active Portfolio Management

MaIN is the investment program to fix and improve the performance of our internet/intranet, therefore addressing the major pain point of our colleagues (and customers, in some cases). Through active reprioritization of the investment budget and the collaboration of the organization we achieved funding MaIN avoiding overspend.

Sunrise IT Portfolio Review

Savings of €7.7m across most project portfolios realized. Key objective was to avoid potential “regrets”, e.g., inconsistent investment vs. target architecture, and to free-up resources for integration planning and, in perspective, integration execution.




IT/Digital Portfolio Analysis 2018

First combined (IT & Digital) portfolio analysis, investigating the purpose of the investments (Run the Business vs. Grow the Business vs. Transform the Business) giving relevant strategic insights to influence future decisions






Professionalizing (Global) Portfolio Management incl. Uffective development

Introduction of various functionalities enabling state of the art portfolio management (KPIs, Interface ins-pi, upload) incl. process improvements (commercial opening and management of projects)
