Our new community brings together, for the first time, every team who interacts with and connects us to our 15 million members. By bringing together these teams we can combine our expertise, skills and knowledge for the benefit of our members.

We have a unique opportunity to work together to build on our great customer service and be at the forefront of transforming experiences for both our colleagues and the 15 million members we serve on a daily basis.
Relationships & Distribution is one of eleven communities organised around delivering our core purpose of building society, nationwide.

Each community has an agenda to deliver against and our community’s key accountability is to focus on the service we provide to our members, ensure we spend their money wisely to enable growth and to transform the channels they use to interact and connect with us whether that’s face to face, over the phone, through our third parties or via our digital or mobile channels.
Today is a special day for Nationwide as we move into our new structure and communities. I've been looking forward to this day since Joe announced the restructure back in September. Along with the rest of my leadership team, I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to you all on our first day as the Relationships & Distribution community.

There are over 12,000 colleagues in our community; that’s a lot of people power to think creatively and innovatively about our strategic ambition and how we can transform the way our members engage with us in the future.

We all have a role to play in supporting our promise to the business – to really focus on our 15 million members and make a positive difference to their experiences. It’s about bringing our human touch to the fore, so we can build meaningful relationships with our members, as well as capitalising on our digital capability so members can manage their money in the easiest and most convenient way for them.

We have a big agenda to deliver with some stretching targets, but I know I can rely on you for the energy, ambition, enthusiasm and commitment we need to deliver for the Society and our members. The Big Conversation highlighted how important this is to all of us. I want you to be proud of the service we offer to our members and of the innovative way we are transforming our business into a dynamic, multi-channel offering.

We are in a great place; we have much to celebrate and I’d like to thank you all for everything you have done to help get us to where we are today. The future is full of promise. We have an opportunity to do something legendary for our members.

As a community, we have a huge role to play in making our Society a leader not just in the sector but across the retail and service industry. And I’m excited to be leading our community as we move into a new era.

I’ll be inviting you all to be involved in shaping how you want to keep the strategy alive amongst our community and share more detail on how we will be turning strategy into action as we approach a new financial year. I’ll also take the opportunity to ask for your views on how you’d like to be engaged by me and your leadership team so that we can create meaningful dialogues and share experience, knowledge and learnings more widely.
